DESPITE the bitterly cold and damp winter weather, a crowd of Liverpool Mercury riders were happy enough to make their way out to Hunters Hill last Sunday for the club's annual Hill Climbing Championships at 11am.
Ray Pugh was the easy winner in 3m;7sec, closely followed by Ricardo Garcia (3m;59sec), Neil Coakly (4m;38sec), Dan Kenyon (4m;42sec), Neil Russel (4m;47sec), John Monaghan (5m;30sec), Jim Kay (5m;41sec).
Well done lads. Personally, I was too hungover and, as Tony Mac puts it, a bit of a 'namby-pamby' to brave the cold and have a go. Hence why I watched from the sidelines. Maybe next year - once I lose about three stone and get helium filled tyres.
