FOLLOWING discussions with Saunier Duval general manager Mauro Gianetti at EuroBike in September, Science in Sport have agreed to continue their sponsorship of the Saunier Duval team in 2008.

SiS' Peter Slater and Tim Lawson have just returned from the first team get-together in Noja, northern Spain, where as well as meeting up with the riders, masseurs and medical staff, they also had time to fit in a training ride with the team.

Slater said: "Mauro approached me at EuroBike to express how keen he and the riders were to ensure that Science in Sport continued to support the team in 2008.

"He also said the Science in Sport range of energy and recovery products had been acceppted and used by the whole team with no problems.

"It was important for us to visit the team at this training camp to ensure the riders, masseurs and medical staff are fully educated and up to speed regarding the correct use of all our products in order to maximise the benefit.

"It was very encouraging for us when the riders such as Piepoli, Ricco, Cobo and Belohvosciks were so pleased to see us at the camp, which to them confirmed Science in Sport were to continue as a sponsor.

"All in all, we had a few good days with the team, which gave us the chance to get to know the riders better and to see how much they really appreciate the support we are giving them.

"Cycling and being competitive at the highest level is extremley demanding and draining on your energy system. These guys take their sports nutrition very seriously and know what workds on and off the bike - SiS is their choice."
