AFTER a suggestion from John at Liverpool Mercury, I thought that I'd try and put together a list of all the different sportives and similar rides that take place in the North West - together with website links and details etc.

Comments: The route starts and finishes in Great Langdale and is a circular route which encompasses Grasmere, Keswick and the Eastern Lake District. The route includes the climbs of Whinlatter Pass, Wrynose pass and Hardknott Pass.

Some rides worth adding to your list are the Lancashire Lanes-75 miles (Merseyside Wheelers), the Bill Bradley Memorial Ride-80 miles or later in the year 100 miles (Southport CC) and the Flintshire Challenge - about 80 miles (Birkenhead North CC).
