ASTLEY and Tyldesley are pleased to announce that Wigan Council have awarded a grant of £671 from their Community Chest Fund.
An application for £900 was made by Astley and Tyldesley development officer, Aimee Hack, for the purchase of six junior 24" wheel cycle speedway bikes, which will be used by youngsters at the club's practice sessions.
Club spokesman Mike Hack said: "The award is most welcome in that it fills the gap between our range of 20" wheel and 26" wheel bikes, bringing the club's stock of bikes up to 29. As a Go-Ride Clubmark accredited club, we are continuing to increase accessibility to our facilities, so that more youngsters can participate."
