SOUTHPORT Cycling Club have announced the date and route for their popular Bill Bradley Memorial Rides, which take place on Sunday, July 27.
There are two rides - a 40-mile 'easy' route and a 80-mile one that takes in some of the routes Bill used to use for training, including the Through of Bowland, Waddington Fell - which have featured in the Tour of Britain and old Milk Races.
The 40-mile route heads out from Preston Arena to Woodplumpton, St Michael’s, Pilling Scorton, Inglewhite and then back through Woodplumton to the Arena. There is also a choice of two routes between Scorton and Inglewhite - Harris End Feel and Oakenclough or Barnacre Church.
Whereas, the 80-mile route, which also starts from Preston Sports Arena, takes in Quernmore, Jubilee Tower, Trough of Bowland, Dunsop bridge, Newton, Waddington, Chipping, Longridge before heading back through Inglewhite, Woodplumpton and then home to the Preston Sports Arena.
