A GOOD cyclist looks like poetry in motion. Legs circling in perfect rhythm, a position of power with relaxed high-speed propulsion. Just think Bradley Wiggins. By contrast many beginners or occasional cyclists look inefficient, are in the wrong gear and appear to be progressing painfully, according to Joe Beer.

SORRY we’ve not been able to update Bikenut as much as we would have liked in the last two weeks, but I have been on holiday to the home of the finish of the Tour de France – Paris – and then ended up catching a bad bout of flu when I got back home.

THE Kemmelberg will keep on kicking in 2008 with its inclusion in the 70th Gent-Wevelgem despite multiple incidents last year. But the race organiser has modified the climb's approach and descent to avoid the trouble seen when riders, including Frenchman Jimmy Casper, were injured on the high-speed descent, according to Cyclingnews.com's Gregor Brown.
